Talking about the looks then the Yamaha MT 15 comes with all new looks whereas the KTM Duke 125 design is borrowed from its elder sibling The KTM duke 200.
The Yamaha MT 15 is a naked version of the Yamaha YZF R15 v3 but it design is derived from the Yamaha MT 09. The KTM Duke 125 also uses the same chassis of KTM Duke 200 but there are some of the differences too.
The Yamaha MT 15 gets the new graphics because its design is new, whereas the KTM Duke 125 gets the similar graphics like the Duke 200. Both the bikes looks very attractive specially the head light of MT 15.
The Yamaha MT 15 comes with the 155 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled, 4 strokes, 4 valve SOHC engine which produces 19.3 PS power at 10000 rpm and 15 Nm torque at 8500 rpm.
And the KTM duke 125 comes with 124.7 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled, 4 valve, DOHC engine which produces 14.5 PS power at 9250 rpm and 12 Nm torque at 8000 rpm.
In terms of engine and power it is not fare to compare both the bikes but both the bikes comes in same price range. Engine vibration on both bikes is very less as compare to the other bikes.
Initial pickup of the KTM duke 125 is better then Yamaha MT 15 but in top end MT 15 left Duke 125 far ahead. Power in both motorcycle is awesome.
The compay claimed mileage of the KTM duke 125 is 46.92 kmpl (overall) whereas the Yamaha MT 15 will give around 40-45 kmpl. Both the bikes are fuel injected therefor no reserve fuel option given in both the bikes.
Fuel tank capacity of the Yamaha MT 15 is 10 liters whereas the KTM duke 125’s fuel tank capacity is 10.2 liters. In terms of fuel tank capacity The Duke 125 is ahead of the MT 15.
The kerb weight of the Yamaha MT 15 is 133 Kg whereas the kerb weight of the KTM duke 125 is 148 Kg. The MT 15 is more powerful but it is 15 Kg lighter then the KTM duke 125.
Ground clearance of the Yamaha MT 15 is 155 mm and The KTM duke 125 has 175 mm of ground clearance. Seat hight of the Yamaha MT 15 is 810 mm whereas the seat hight of Duke 125 is 818 mm.
Both the bikes comes with telescopic forks at front and monoshock suspension at rear. The international variant of the Yamaha MT 15 comes with USD (up-side-down) forks at front.
Both the bikes comes with disc brakes at front and rear as well. The front tyre size of the Yamaha MT 15 is 110/70-17 whereas the rear tyre size is 140/70-17.
Fronttyre size of the KTM Duke 125 is 110/70-R17 and the rear tyre size is 150/60-R17. Reartyre of the KTM Duke 125 is wider then The Yamaha MT 15.
If we talk about the ABS (anti-lock braking system) then both the bikes comes with ABS. Here Yamaha MT 15 got the plus point because it comes with dual channel ABS whereas KTM duke 125 has single channel ABS.

The estimated price of the Yamaha MT 15 is around Rs 1.20 lakh, whereas the KTM Duke 125 is priced at Rs 1.18 lakh (ex-showroom). both the bikes come in approximately similar price range.
If we talk about the specification and all other things then both bikes have equal points but if we talk about the price then, KTM duke 125 is Expensive specially in this price range where you have many other options.
In terms of features Yamaha MT 15 comes with dual channel ABS instead of single channel ABS like The KTM duke 125. So in safety factor MT 15 is ahead of Duke 125.
